Oregon’s Student Success Act, raising $1 billion for K-12 schools in Oregon with a just over half-percent tax on gross receipts for businesses with $1 million or more in sales, figures to mean $2 million per year to North Wasco County School District 21 beginning in the 2020-21 school year. D-21 Superintendent Candy Armstrong says the funds must be used in areas like reducing class size, social and emotional learning, or career and technical education. She notes they must have plans to present the Oregon Department of Education by the start of November, and they are required to get community input. Armstrong notes the money cannot go towards facilities.
