Wishram To Celebrate Centennial

Wishram will celebrate its centennial this coming Saturday.  The party will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at Railroad Park, and will include live music, a barbecue, and a beer garden.  Wishram actually began to form in 1911, when George Bunn opened the first store there.  The centennial marks when Bunn filed the plat for the town with Klickitat County.  It was originally named Fallbridge, which was used by railroaders noting the proximity to Celilo Falls and the railroad bridge over the Columbia River.  The name was changed to Wishram in 1926.  The 2010 census says 342 people live in the community.
