Wine History Effort To Come Through The Gorge

Linfield College’s efforts to preserve the history of Oregon winemaking will bring an archivist to Hood River in June and The Dalles in July to record oral histories and collect historic items from area winemakers.  Archivist Racheal Woody says the Oregon Wine History Archive started with the Willamette Valley, and has moved on to Southern Oregon and now the Columbia Gorge with help from a grant from the Oregon Wine Board.  Woody says they are talking to a number of different people to gather information.  The Oregon Wine History Archive was started in 2011, and now is home to collections from some of the most significant wineries in the state.
