Washington Man LifeFlighted After Overdose At Memaloose

A missing Bainbridge, Washington man who attempted to take his own life is being treated at a Portland-area hospital after he was found by officers from Oregon State Police (OSP) and Wasco County Sheriff’s Office Saturday night inside a utility trailer at a rest area along Interstate 84 west of The Dalles.   An OSP trooper located a vehicle in the eastbound Interstate 84 Memaloose Rest Area matching the description of one involved in an attempt to locate the man.  After Wasco County sheriff’s deputies arrived to assist…they attempted contact with the 39-year old man who they believed was inside the trailer attached to the vehicle.   After several knocks and attempts to verbally call the man out of the trailer…officers determined the door was unlocked…entered the trailer and found the man lying on the floor moaning and in distress from an apparent overdose of pills.  Emergency medical care was given…and LifeFlight took the man to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center for treatment.   The man’s name is not being released and he will be receiving a mental health evaluation.
