Walden Votes In Favor Of Ryan Plan

Oregon Second District Congressman Greg Walden voted in support of a GOP budget plan that promises to balance the budget in ten years through five trillion dollars in cuts that would eliminate health care coverage under the Affordable Care Act.  The 219-205 vote on the non-binding framework by Republican Budget Committee Chair Paul Ryan is mostly symbolic with no follow-up legislation to implement the cuts in the works.  Walden believes the budget needs to be balanced soon to stimulate economic growth.  Ryan’s plan proposes more money for the Pentagon and would not touch Social Security benefits.
