Unemployment rates in Oregon Mid-Columbia counties in February remained mostly unchanged from January, and down from one year ago. Statistics released by the Oregon Employment Department show Hood River County’s February unemployment rate at 5.5%, up a tenth-of-point from last month, Wasco County remaining steady at 6.6%, and Sherman County up two-tenths of a point to 6.3%. All three counties have lower rates than February 2013, with Hood River County down by over a full percentage point, Wasco down by exactly a full point, and Sherman dropping by eight-tenths of a percentage point.
