Two Injured In Highway 14 Accident

Two people were injured and taken to area hospitals in a motor vehicle accident on Highway 14 west of Lyle on Saturday.  According to the Washington State Patrol, a pickup truck was eastbound on Highway 14 and a sports utility vehicle was westbound.  When an unknown vehicle was stopped to turn left onto Highway 8 in front of the pickup, the pickup swerved into the oncoming lane and struck the SUV.  The drivers of both the pickup and the SUV were taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.  The accident occurred at around 4:50 p.m. on Saturday.  The WSP listed the cause as operating a personal electronic device and over the center line.
