For candidates intending to run for The Dalles City in the upcoming November 5 General Election, packets are now available online and in the City Clerk’s office.  Three City Councilor positions are open for election, each with a term of four years.  To qualify, candidates must be registered voters residing within the City limits for at least 12 months preceding their election or appointment to office.  No candidate may run for more than one City office in a single election.  The filing period begins June 5 and ends on August 2.  Further details on running for office are available on the City’s website at thedalles.org.  For assistance contact City Elections Official Amie Ell at amell@ci.the-dalles.or.us or call 541-296-5481 ext. 1119 to schedule an appointment.
