TD Council Approves Mobile Home Park Zone Change

The Dalles City Council approved a zone change for a mobile home park on the corner of West 10th and Hostetler from Commercial/Light Industrial to Residential Medium Density.  The change is being made as the property changes hands.  It had previously been a non-conforming use in the Commercial/Light Industrial Zone, and Mayor Steve Lawrence says the change will allow for development of additional manufactured homes, which falls in line with the Council’s goal to create more housing opportunities.  Lawrence added the City Planning Department is preparing recommendations for zoning amendments to create more opportunities to develop housing in The Dalles.
