State Street Open, But Work Still To Be Done Around 6th Street

For the first time in a number of weeks…State Street through downtown Hood River was open this weekend.  Most of the first layer of paving was finished last week, but City Manager Steve Wheeler says the area around 6th Street will have to be done this week, requiring detours around that area.  That will finish the asphalt work for the summer, with the second and final lift to be done after Labor Day.  During the summer, concrete work on the sidewalks will continue along with construction of restrooms at Third and State.
