Small Fire In Wamic May Be Latest In Series Of Deliberately Set Fires

Fire crews in Sherman County dealt with a small fire on Sunday near the Wamic Pub ‘n Grub that was extinguished, and reportedly was deliberately set.  That’s the latest in a series of fires in Sherman and Wasco County believed to be arson.  Over the weekend, the reward being offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the intentionally set fires in those counties increased to six-thousand dollars.  Moro Rural Fire District contributed $2500 dollars and South Sherman Fire District added $500 to the reward pool that already included $2500 dollars from North Sherman Fire.  Anyone with information on the recent fires in Sherman and Wasco County should call the Sherman County Sheriff’s Office at 541-565-3622.
