Searches Unable To Locate Teenage Swimmer Near Thunder Island

Search crews have been unable to locate a teenage swimmer who was last observed east of the Bridge of the Gods near Thunder Island on Wednesday.  The Skamania County Sheriff’s Office says it deployed a boat in an effort to locate the missing male, while several deputies also responded on land to assist in the effort.  Numerous agencies including the Hood River County Sheriff’s Office, Washington State Fish and Wildlife, United States Coast Guard, and Columbia River Inter-Tribal Fisheries Enforcement, were also involved in the search.  Further efforts were made on Thursday.
