A search is underway for a man who escaped from the Klickitat County Jail Monda morning. Klickitat County Sheriff’s Chief Criminal Deputy Pat Kaley says Charles W. Loyd, also known as Charles W. Foley, escaped from the jail at about 5 a.m. and is currently at large. Loyd was incarcerated on kidnapping, robbery, burglary, assault, and theft of a firearm charges. The exact method of escape is currently under investigation, but Kaley says they know Loyd was the only person to escape from the facility. Kaley added they believe Loyd may attempt to acquire transportation to flee from the Goldendale area. The public is urged to keep their vehicles locked and secured to prevent a theft from occurring. Loyd is described as a 38-year-old white male, six feet tall, 230 pounds, with brown eyes. If you have any information as to Loyd’s whereabouts contact your local law enforcement agency or the Klickitat County Sheriff’s Office at (509)773-4455. Kaley added people should not attempt to contact or apprehend Loyd.
