Reverse 911 Signups Begin In Hood River County

Hood River County’s new Reverse 9-1-1 system is up and running.  It’s similar to a system that has been use in Wasco County, allow emergency services to alert residents of emergencies by land-line or wireless phone, text, and e-mail.  Sheriff Matt English is urging residents to sign up to be a part of the system, noting the Reverse 9-1-1 system can target specific areas for notifications.  Residents can sign-up for the Reverse 9-1-1 service at the Hood River County website, co.hood-river.or.us.  Those who need assistance can call the Sheriff’s business office at 541-386-2711.  English says a number of sign up events will be held throughout Hood River County in the coming weeks.
