Two To Receive Lifetime Volunteer Award

Two Mid-Columbia residents have been selected to receive regional lifetime achievement awards at the 2014 Governor’s Volunteer Awards later this month.  Doug Leash of The Dalles is being honored for his work on the St. Peter’s Landmark, and Sigrid Scully of Hood River is being recognized for helping Start Making A Reader Today, the Foster Grandparent Program, and being an Oregon Long-Term Care Ombudsman.  The Volunteer Awards will be given at a luncheon on April 24 in Salem.  The Oregon Volunteers Commission for Voluntary Action and Service organizes the awards program.
