The Dalles-Wasco County Library Foundation has taken another step toward making expansion plans for the library a reality. The organization just awarded a Portland architectural firm, FFA, the contract to do preliminary drawings for the four-thousand square foot expansion to provide more room for children’s and young adult services. Board member Corliss Marsh says it’s an important step that will help them in the eyes of major grant providers. $215,000 has been raised locally for the $1,200,000, with a number of grant applications currently pending.
