Port of TD To Observe Manufacturing Day

The Port of The Dalles is planning to observe National Manufacturing Day on October 3.  Port Executive Director Andrea Klaas says the state of Oregon and different industry clusters are trying to bring more attention to manufacturing on that day.  Klaas says the Port Commission plans to approve a proclamation recognizing October 3 as National Manufacturing Day, and hopes to partner with manufacturers in the Port to provide tours and tell people about the story of manufacturing.  She notes the technological advances in the manufacturing sector might surprise many people.
