While much of the attention in this election has been on the national scene, there are plenty of local and statewide offices and issues on ballots.  There are mayoral and city council elections throughout Hood River and Wasco counties, while in Oregon there is a U.S. Senate seat, the Second District Congressional position, and numerous legislative races to be decided in this vote.  In Washington, there are contested county commission seats in both Klickitat and Skamania counties on the ballot, along with tax measures for both hospital districts in Klickitat County, a three-year replacement levy in the Stevenson-Carson School District, legislative seats, and the Third District Congressional position.
