Oregon Women For Ag Looks To Grow In The Gorge

Oregon Women For Agriculture’s Columbia Gorge chapter is continuing to look to grow after being reformed a few months ago.  The organization’s Josie Miller says they have about 35 members now, and they plan to be out in the community over the next few months, noting their role is to educate, promote, and unite.  The group plans to be out and about during the Northwest Cherry Festival in The Dalles in late April, and the organization helps provide the crop signs on area highways indicating what is being raised in various fields.  Miller says those who are interest in joining Oregon Women For Agriculture are invited to come to a meeting, which takes place the third Tuesday of every month at 5:30 p.m. at the Farm Service Agency office on 2325 River Road in The Dalles.  The organization’s website is owaonline.org.
