Olson To Take Over As Presiding Judge

Circuit Judge John Olson will take over as Presiding Judge of Oregon’s Seventh Judicial District when Paul Crowley retires July 1.  Olson was appointed to the position by Oregon Supreme Court Chief Justice Thomas Balmer.  Olson says the judges in the district have developed a teamwork approach to running the district that will continue.  Crowley called Olson a good choice, describing him as thoughtful, intelligent, and open minded.  A replacement for Crowley on the bench will be appointed by Governor John Kitzhaber sometime this summer, and that person will then run for re-election in November.  The Seventh Judicial District includes Hood River, Wasco, Sherman, Gilliam, and Wheeler counties.
