Hood River Valley 3, Hermiston 1: Sindy Magana scored twice and Kassidy Davidson added the third goal as HRV clinched its fifth straight league championship.

Cross Country
Columbia won the Trico League boys’ cross country championship on its home course at Husum Hills Golf Course. Colin Howe was second and Will Nuckoles third to lead the Bruins to the team title, holding off LaCenter. Jarod Hulsizer of Kalama won the individual championship. Stevenson finished in fifth, paced by a seventh place finish from Jordan Vigil. In the girls’ race, LaCenter held off Columbia for first place in the team standings led by a one-two finish from Jenna Melanson and Katie Whitten. Columbia’s Rachel Luther was third, while teammates Sidra Matthias took fifth and Haley Blair sixth. The Southwest Washington Class 1A District championships will be held November 1 at Lewis River Golf Course in Woodland.
