Memorial Day Events Set In The Region

Memorial Day events are planned for the region on Monday.  In The Dalles, a ceremony will take place at noon at the Kelly Viewpoint Veterans Memorial at Sorosis Park.  The event will include wreath laying and military honors by American Legion Post 19.  In Hood River, Memorial Day ceremonies begin at 11 a.m. in Idlewidle Cemetery, including presentations by American Legion Post 22 and the Boy Scouts, an antique aircraft flyover, and Veterans plaques added to the Bud Collins Walk of Honor.  The annual Memorial Day celebration at the Wasco railroad depot begins with a country breakfast at 7:30 a.m., and will include a brief ceremony honoring all veterans, a car show, raffle, tractor-wagon rides, and a barbecue.
