MCFR Board Authorizes Contract For Station 2 Design

Mid-Columbia Fire and Rescue’s board has authorized entering into a contract with Peck, Smiley, Ettlin Architectural for project management services for the design, bid, and renovation of Station 2 on Columbia View Heights.  Fire Chief Bob Palmer says the project will get started at the end of the month with design development, and that should take about a month, followed by preparation of construction documents.  MCFR has over $484,000 for the project which will allow Station 2 to be manned in the near future.  The money came as part of the tax abatement agreement by Google with the City of The Dalles and Wasco County for Google’s current data center expansion.
