Mayor Says Three Proposals Submitted For Granada Block

The Dalles Mayor Steve Lawrence says the Columbia Gateway Urban Renewal Agency has received three proposals for redevelopment of the Granada Block.  Lawrence says the proposals are varied.  One would be confined to First Street for a retail complex, a second would use the Granada, Recreation, and Blue buildings involving a hotel, and a third involves the trio of structures without a hotel.  Lawrence appointed a small group to review the proposals before taking them to the Urban Renewal Advisory Committee to make a recommendation.  He says the topic will go before the City Council, acting in its capacity as the Urban Renewal Agency board, on February 22.
