Oregon Class 4A Softball First Round

Scappoose 2, The Dalles 0:  Saige Casey pitched a three-hitter as Scappoose shocked the defending 4A champions and eliminated the Riverhawks from the playoffs.  Scappoose scored in the fourth when Aliza Brainerd’s sacrifice fly scored Casey, and added an insurance run in the seventh inning on a Kaitlyn Ventris homer.  The Riverhawks had chances but left nine runners on base.

 

Oregon Class 4A Baseball First Round

The Dalles 6, Philomath 3:  Will Booth drove in two runs as the Riverhawks used a four-run second inning to propel themselves to the win.  Avery Schwartz pitched five innings in relief, giving up only one run on three hits and striking out nine.  The Riverhawks will visit North Marion for a quarter-final game on Friday at 5 p.m.
