Softball

Putnam 8, Hood River Valley 7:  Putnam won the game on a run in the bottom of the seventh after HRV came back from a 6-2 deficit, including two in the top of the seventh on consecutive hits by Kenadie Lucas, Isa Rivera, and Marina Castaneda.  Rivera had four hits in the game, including a pair of doubles, while Castaneda homered.  The loss leaves HRV two games out of a playoff spot with just two to play.

Bend 8, The Dalles 3:  An eight-run third inning gave the Lava Bears the non-league win, breaking the Riverhawks 19-game winning streak.  Jeilane Stewart hit a home run for The Dalles.

 

Washington District 5 Class 2B Softball Playoffs

First Round

Goldendale 18, Tri-Cities Prep 10;  Addie Bomberger homered and drove in five runs to lead the Timberwolves, who move on to play a semi-final at Warden today.

 

Golf

Dufur’s Tygh Timinsky finished seventh at the Oregon Class 4A/3A/2A/1A Girls Golf Tournament.  Katelyn Vasser of The Dalles finished 20th.

 

Hood River Valley’s John Olsen finished 24th and Davis Kerr 43rd at the Oregon Class 5A Boys Golf Tournament at Quail Valley Golf Club in Banks.

 

Kirstin Fox of HRV finished 30th in the Class 5A Girls Golf Tournament at Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis, with her best two rounds of the year.
