The Wasco County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an altercation in Maupin Thursday afternoon that has left one man in the hospital recovering from a stab wound. Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Lane Magill says three women and the man were involved in some kind of altercation when the incident occurred near the intersection of Highway 197 and Elrod Lane at around 3 p.m. Magill says the man is currently at Mid-Columbia Medical Center after being stabbed with something similar to a pocket knife with a two-inch blade. Magill says the investigation into the case is on-going, and there have been no arrests made at this point.
