Maupin Receives Main Street Grant

The City of Maupin has received a $200,000 Main Street Revitalization Grant award through the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department.  The money is intended to complete façade improvements, accessibility upgrades, roof replacement, and energy efficiency upgrades to transform two single story vacant buildings into an entrepreneurial hub in Maupin.  In addition, the Oregon Frontier Chamber of Commerce also received a $200,000 grant to complete restoration work on the Hotel Moro in Moro, including plumbing, hardwood floors, and remodeling of hotel rooms and bathrooms.  Oregon Heritage, a division of Oregon Parks and Recreation Department, awarded 28 matching grants worth $5,000,000 to Oregon Main Street Network organizations across the state for building projects that encourage economic revitalization.
