Klickitat County Commissioners have decided to expand a pilot program allowing additional dwelling units on properties to Lyle, Glenwood, Klickitat, Roosevelt, and Wishram.  The pilot had been established in unincorporated areas adjacent to White Salmon.  County Commissioner David Sauter says the ADU provision has not been used much in the White Salmon area, but they want to provide as many tools for property owners as possible.  He adds the ADU has a number of requirements, including going through a conditional use process.  The ADU provision was established as a way to help ease some of the housing crunch in the region.
