Kayaker Dies After Being Found In The White Salmon River

A 60-year-old Anchorage kayaker died Thursday afternoon after being discovered unconscious in the White Salmon River near Husum.  According to the Klickitat County Sheriff’s Office, rafters tried to revive 60-year-old Robert Rossberg without success.  He was taken to Skyline Hospital in White Salmon, where he was declared dead after treatment efforsts.  The Sheriff’s Office says Rossberg was an experienced kayaker who had been on the White Salmon River many times.  An autopsy has been requested to determine the cause of death.  The Sheriff’s Office did not elaborate on how Rossberg was discovered or whether he was kayaking with a group or alone.
