Injured Man Rescued On Cape Horn Trail

A Portland man was rescued after begin injured on the Cape Horn Trail over the weekend.  The Skamania County Sheriff’s Office says it received a request for assistance on Friday, with a caller reporting a 57-year-old man from Portland had suffered a knee injury on the trail and could not continue.  Volunteers from the Skamania County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue and Silver Star Search and Rescue Teams responded to the area, quickly located the hiker, and prepared him for extrication.  The hiker was returned to the trailhead by volunteers without further incident.
