There is some growth in enrollment in the Hood River County School District as the school year enters its third week, but not to the point where the student numbers will push above 4,100. Superintendent Dan Goldman says they are still a few days from having a firm enrollment number, but overall they expect to be up by about 30 kids. The district has been around 4,000 the past few years. He says they are up at elementary and high schools but down at the middle school level. Goldman says there is no solid trend established at this point. The enrollment growth is taking place in the Westside, May Street, and Mid-Valley school areas, with drops in Parkdale and Cascade Locks.
