Hood River County’s Planning Commission will hold a public hearing Wednesday evening on amendments to the County’s zoning ordinance to remove limits on the scope of issues the County Commission can respond to in an appeal of a Planning Commission decision. County Administrator David Meriwether says the provisions have been in the ordinance for years, but came to prominence in the appeal of the County Commission’s Barrett Park decision a year ago. Meriwether adds an applicant would still have the right to appeal to the Oregon Land Use Board of Appeals, just as they always have. The hearing will be part of Wednesday’s Planning Commission meeting, beginning at 7 p.m. in the County Administration Building.
