Hood River County Commissioners will hold a hearing on April 21 on an ordinance to put a one-year moratorium on medical marijuana dispensaries in unincorporated areas of the County. Commissioners discussed the matter on Monday, and decided they wanted to at least consider the moratorium to give the County time to sort through rulemaking for the dispensaries. County Administrator David Meriwether says part of the dilemma is that the landscape surrounding medical marijuana is changing. The moratorium option was put in place by the Legislature during the just concluded legislative session. Last year, state legislators approved allowing medical marijuana dispensaries. The hearing will be April 21 at 6 p.m. in the Hood River County Administration Building.
