Hood River County’s budget committee will receive a plan for Fiscal Year 2019-20 that does not include any revenue from two tax measures on the May 21 ballot during its first meeting on April 18. County Administrator Jeff Hecksel says even though County Commissioners have approved using reserves as it seeks new sources of revenue. the amount that was approved is not enough to cover the shortfall. Hecksel says he does not expect the budget committee to accept the document as is, and there will be changes. He adds if the tax measures pass, the reductions would go off the table.
