The Hood River County Health Department has opened up its school-based health clinic at Hood River Valley High School this week. Department Director Ellen Larsen says the Oregon Health Authority issued their official notice that the center’s certification application has been approved, and the state will make a site visit next week. Larsen says they wanted to get the center opened before the school year ended to qualify for two state mental health grants. The facility is located in a modular building at the west end of Hood River Valley High School. The center will be open every school day beginning when the 2015-16 school year starts.
