The History Museum of Hood River County is exploring the history of watersports in the Gorge in its current exhibition that will on display into December. Museum executive director Lynn Orr says the exhibit showcases the development of various watersports in the region and how the Gorge became the mecca for them that it is today. It includes a number of early boards, the equipment of today, and the story of how the people who came for those sports changed Hood River. The Museum is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Port Marina Park.
