Historic Highway Closes Wednesday For Repaving

The Historic Columbia River Highway will close for repaving between East Larch Mountain Road and the west end of the Vista House parking lot on Wednesday (May 29) between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m.  Crews will grind and repave this stretch of the road, which is prone to slides.  The work is weather dependent.  If weather causes postponement, the backup date is the next day, on Thursday, May 30.  Vista House will remain open.  During the closure, Vista House will be available by heading west on the Historic Highway from the Bridal Veil Exit 28 on Interstate 84.
