Highway 197 Closed Monday Morning Due To Accident

The Oregon Department of Transportation says Highway 197 was closed north of Dufur late this morning due to an accident.  ODOT said the highway was closed in both directions between mileposts 12 and 13 as of just before 10 a.m. before reopening in the early afternoon.  The agency had expected the closure to be lengthy, and advised motorists to use alternate routes.  No details on the accident were available yet.
