Groundbreaking For New TD Library Wing On December 23

Groundbreaking for the new children’s wing of The Dalles Wasco County Library will take place next Wednesday.  Fundraising for the John and Jean Thomas Children’s Wing has been on-going for over two years, and the library foundation’s Corliss Marsh says Thomas family members will be on hand to take part.  The Thomas family started the fundraising drive with a $100,000 dollar match.  The foundation has raised $600,000 for the project, and Marsh says they still need to raise $50,000 to completely pay for the expansion.  Next Wednesday’s groundbreaking will start at 11 a.m.
