The deadline to apply for a U.S. Small Business Administration loan in Wasco and neighboring counties to offset economic losses caused by excessive heat, high winds, and fire last summer is July 1.   Small non-farm businesses in Wasco, Hood River, Sherman, Klickitat, Gilliam, and Wheeler counties are eligible.  Small nonfarm businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture and most private nonprofit organizations of any size may apply for Economic Injury Disaster Loans of up to $2 million to help meet working capital needs caused by the disaster.  Applicants may apply online, receive additional disaster assistance information and download applications at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela or call (800) 659-2955.
