Dallesport Woman Dies In Highway 14 Accident

A woman from Dallesport died in a head-on collision Tuesday morning on Washington Highway 14 west of the Lyle tunnel.  According to the Washington State Patrol, the car driven by 60-year-old Donnita Wolcott was westbound just west of the Lyle Tunnel at milepost 76.6 at around 9 a.m. on Tuesday when it crossed the center line and collided head-on with an SUV driven by 66-year-old Barbara Matosich of Lyle.  Wolcott was pronounced deceased at the scene, while Matosich was taken to Mid-Columbia Medical Center in The Dalles with undisclosed injuries.  The WSP indicated there were no passengers in either vehicle.
