North Wasco County School District 21’s Budget Committee meets Tuesday evening, and for the first time in a number of years D-21 administrators will be proposing adding staff for 2014-15. D-21 Superintendent Candy Armstrong says it is a welcome change after a series of cuts that began six years ago. The budget proposal includes plans to hire 14 full-time-equivalent employees, including both licensed and classified positions. D-21 Chief Financial Officer Randy Anderson says a combination of increased state funding and grant monies are allowing the moves. The D-21 budget committee meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Wahtonka campus. Hood River County School District’s budget committee also meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hood River Valley High School.
