Contested Races Fill Ballot In The Dalles

There will be contested races for Mayor and two City Council seats in The Dalles in November.  Tuesday’s filing deadline passed with three people having filed to run for Mayor, including incumbent Steve Lawrence.  He will be challenged by Susan Barr Harris and Solea Kabokov.  There is also a three-candidate race for City Council Position 2, with Dana Journey, Gerald Clay Johnson, and Darcy Long-Curtiss all looking to succeed Dan Spatz, who had earlier announced he would not seek re-election.  For the at-large Council seat, incumbent Taner Elliott will face Andretta Schellinger in November, while Linda Turner is unopposed to retain position 4.
