The Columbia Gorge Prescribed Fire Training Exchange is getting back into action after a break, and weather conditions are aligning well for a few mid-week burns. If conditions and other factors allow, participants are planning to burn two 50-acre units of Washington Department of Natural Resources land northeast of Glenwood on Wednesday and Thursday. Smoke from these burns is likely to be visible in parts of Glenwood through Friday afternoon and possibly into Saturday. Mt. Adams Resource Stewards and available CGTREX participants will be on site to perform mop up and patrol on both units through the weekend, as needed. CGTREX participants have implemented prescribed burns on over 150 acres of mostly private land in the last two weeks.
