Track and Field
Hood River Valley’s boys won the Sandy Invitational, while the Eagle girls were third. For the HRV boys Sebastian Barajas won the shot and discus, Justin Crosswhite took first in the 800 meters, Parker Irusta topped the long jump, and Parker Kennedy won the pole vault. HRV’s girls were led by second place finishes from Audrey Marble, Katie Kennedy, and Kimberlee Boquist.
South Wasco tied Mac-Hi for the girls’ title at the River’s Edge Invitational in Umatilla. Ana Popchock won the triple jump and long jump for the Redsides, while Brittney Orendorff of Sherman won the pole vault. Sherman finished second in the boys’ competition to Elgin, as Isaiah Coles won the triple jump and the Husky four by 100 meter relay team was victorious. South Wasco’s Ellis Rager won the shot put.
Sherman won the boys’ team standings at the Dick Horyna Invitational in Stanfield by a half-point over Griswold. Maverick Winslow won the 100 and the pole vault for the Huskies. The Sherman girls were fourth with Brittney Orendorff winning the pole vault.
