Anderson Gives Council Dog River Pipeline Overview

The Dalles Public Works Director Dave Anderson gave City Councilors a presentation on the Dog River water pipeline, which went into service in late October.  The modern pipe replaces a wooden line that was built in 1913, and will increase capacity from 8 million gallons a day to 17 million.  Anderson said the pipeline replacement project also addressed fish passage with a new spillway.  Anderson said there is about 60 days of work to be done this spring, including installation of fish screens, handrails, and walkways.
