A Long Road to Travel will be on display at The History Museum of Hood River County through December 31…a collaboration between The History Museum of Hood River County and the Japanese American Museum of Oregon. It is based on and expands from two exhibitions: What if Heroes Were Not Welcome Home, a traveling show organized by the Oregon Historical Society and co-curated by Linda Tamura and Marsha Matthew, and Humble Heroes, which was shown at the Oregon Nikkei Legacy Center (now the Japanese American Museum of Oregon).

Mid-Columbia Fire and Rescue ELFF Canned Food Drive…December 6, 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at Fire Station 1 on 1400 West 8th in The Dalles.  Take a driving tour of ELFF Drive and see decorated fire trucks and other displays, Santa and Sparky the Fire Dog will be there, and firefighters will be on site to collect non-perishable food or cash donations to go directly to local food pantries.  In partnership with the Salvation Army, St. Vincent dePaul, and The Dalles Lions.
