Victims In Goldendale Shooting Identified

The names of two 18-year-olds who were shot and killed in Goldendale on Thursday have been released.  Klickitat County Sheriff Bob Songer says the victims were Justin Daniel Plunkett of Portland and April L. Reed, who used to live on the property where the shooting occurred in the 400 block of Brentwood Road.  Songer says the suspect in the shooting, 51-year-old Gary Hawkins, remains in a Portland-area hospital.  Hawkins went unconscious in a sheriff’s vehicle after he was taken into custody and had to be revived by CPR.  Songer says Hawkins will be taken into custody and charged with two counts of murder once he is released.  Songer added the motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
