Wind Challenge Set For Saturday

Columbia Gorge Community College and Google are teaming up for the 2014 Wind Challenge on Saturday at The Dalles Civic Auditorium.  Teams of middle and high school students will build, test, and present wind turbine models in an all-day competition.  There will also be a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fair at the event, where attendees can build mini-turbines and learn about solar energy, discover how to recycle old tech gear, and see student-built robotics. The Wind Challenge runs from 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Saturday at The Dalles Civic Auditorium.
